AURORA (OU LIVRO) é uma performance que se faz parcialmente de olhos fechados. Não sabemos exactamente onde acontece, se na sala de alguém, se numa blackbox, se nas ruas de uma cidade. Há uma linha que se estende entre a realidade e a ficção. Uma linha que começa na ponta de um dedo e se estende para o espaço. Aurora é também o momento entre a noite e o dia, o período de luz em que o sol ainda não se levantou, em que tudo é iluminado de forma difusa numa tensão entre escuridão, sombra e luz. É o momento que ainda não é. É também uma promessa, um desejo e uma expectativa em relação ao momento que se segue. Neste trabalho o grupo de artistas cria um habitat para o corpo, pensando-o como uma matéria táctil e reativa, que quando privado da visão, activa outras formas de ler o mundo e de se relacionar com a realidade. Paula Diogo tem um percurso que experimenta olhares transversais sobre a criação artística, e que questionam linguagens e formatos. A artista parte da experimentação em estúdio para a construção dramatúrgica em processos em que prática e teoria se alimentam mutuamente.
Na última residência de criação antes de iniciar o período de ensaios, a equipa do projeto (Paula Diogo, Joana Gomes, Mariana Ricardo, Masako Hattori e João Lopes Pereira) volta a reunir-se com os integrantes do Núcleo Dançando com a Diferença (Sara Lourenço, Manuela Silva, Zé Luís, Olga Magalhães, Inês Oliveira, Celso Santos, Diogo Peres e João Estrela) na construção deste habitat para o corpo. A estreia de AURORA (OU LIVRO) será no Teatro Viriato em Março de 2026.
AURORA (OR BOOK) is a performance that is partially done with eyes closed. We don’t know exactly where it takes place, whether in someone’s living room, in a black box, or on the streets of a city. There is a line that stretches between reality and fiction. A line that begins at the tip of a finger and extends into space. Dawn (Aurora) is also the moment between night and day, the period of light when the sun has not yet risen, when everything is diffusely illuminated in a tension between darkness, shadow, and light. It is the moment that is not yet. It is also a promise, a desire, and an expectation regarding the moment that follows. In this work, the group of artists creates a habitat for the body, thinking of it as a tactile and reactive matter, which, when deprived of sight, activates other ways of reading the world and relating to reality. Paula Diogo has a career that experiments with transversal perspectives on artistic creation, questioning languages and formats. The artist uses studio experimentation to develop dramaturgical narratives in processes where practice and theory mutually reinforce each other.
In their final creative residency before beginning rehearsals, the project team (Paula Diogo, Joana Gomes, Mariana Ricardo, Masako Hattori and João Lopes Pereira) reunites with members of the Núcleo Dançando com a Diferença (Sara Lourenço, Manuela Silva, Zé Luís, Olga Magalhães, Inês Oliveira, Celso Santos, Diogo Peres and João Estrela) to build this habitat for the body. The premiere of AURORA (OR BOOK) will be at the Teatro Viriato in March 2026.
